I really wanted to animate Pikachu while I was on a nostalgia trip, so I challenged myself to render this animation in the old school Pokemon style. Very different from how I usually work, but in the end it was a lot of fun trying to replicate the way Pokemon were colored back in the day. I especially enjoyed adding the white highlights to create a sense of form within Pikachu.
